Music and song writing have been a lifelong passion for Allan Rankin.

He first performed professionally as part of The Troubadours, a group of folk musicians assembled by the Confederation Centre of the Arts in the 1970’s and produced by the late Jack MacAndrew.

Since then, Allan has become a much admired song writer, known for his ballads about people and life in the Maritimes, songs like Raise the Dead of Wintertime, Maritime Star, and The Downtown Heart of Breadalbane.
